Sugaring is a form of hair removal using an all natural paste, this form of hair removal has been around since 1900 BC.
The paste is made from sugar, lemon and water. I know so good you'll want to eat it, and you can! Sugar is a natural antiseptic, due to the high concentration of sugar bacterial growth cannot occur.
This natural paste is used warm, avoiding any burns, the paste adheres to the hair not the skin making it gentle for all skin types including those with ezcema, psoriasias, or over all sensativities. The paste is applied directly to the skin in the opposite direction of hair growth and flicked off in the same direction of hair growth, this avoids possibilities of any hair breaking. This technique is truly an art form.
What is Sugaring?
Q: How long does the hair need to be?
A: 1/2 inch - about the length of grain of rice. Depending how quickly your hair grows, it usually be 2-3 weeks after your last shave.
Q: I’m pregnant, can I still get a Brazilian?
A: Yes, as long as it is okay with your doctor. Sometimes, when your body is going through this much change, it can be a bit more sensitive.
Q: Can I get sugared when I have my period?
A: Forsure! We are completely comfortable, we are girls too(we get it) just wear a tampon, and tuck in the string.
Q: Why do I have red spots after my treatment?
A: Do not be alarmed, this is just an indication that the hairs have been removed from the follicle and it is quite normal after a treatment. They will disappear.
Avoid hot tubs, swimming pools and sun-tanning immediately following treatment.
Skip the gym! excessive perspiration can irritate the skin directly after, and may introduce bacteria into pores causing ingrown hairs.
To reduce redness, apply a cold compress two to three times for about 2-3 minutes at a time.
Do not use perfumed soap or products with chemical irritants on treated area within 24 hours of your treatment.
Exfoliation on a regular basis will help eliminate the dead skin cells blocking the follicle and allow the hair to come to the surface. We recommend using a natural bristle dry brush, exfoliation gloves or PBF vanish gel.
Use a scent and oil free moisturizer to keep skin hydrated and healthy.
To avoid deodorant for 4 to 6 hours after underarm treatment.
